So today I did a little testing on my app to see if my random system is working. I'll have a much more in-depth post about that tomorrow though. The more important bit of today is that I spent my evening doing something a little different, but overall helpful for my development process (in addition to reading up a little more on arrays and randomness in games while waiting around).
See, the Game Maker Studio tool I use to develop is currently only on Windows. This works excellently for me while I'm at home, but my on-the-road setup is a 2010 Macbook Pro, so unfortunately I don't get to develop if I leave town. Well today that's changed!
I won't go in to the boring details, but basically I've gotten a hold of some new parts including a RAM upgrade and SSD for my macbook, and I've installed Windows. So now I've got a totally mobile development setup!
I travel a bit here and there so this is huge for me in being able to allow me to keep programming while I'm away from home. Not exactly programming for the day, but it was still time well spent to allow me to keep moving towards my goal so I'll count it!
